If you do not agree, do not use the Services. We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
1. Who we are
The Services are operated by the publisher of Cipher Decipher ("we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us through the Contact page or at contact@cipherdecipher.com.
2. Eligibility and acceptable use
You may use the Services only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You agree not to misuse the Services. For example, you must not attempt to:
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or networks, or breach security or authentication measures without authorization;
- Interfere with access to the Services for others (for example, by flooding, denial-of-service attacks, or distributing malware);
- Use automated means (such as bots or scrapers) in a way that degrades site performance or violates robots.txt or similar instructions where applicable;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or underlying models from the Services except where applicable law expressly permits this despite this limitation;
- Use the Services to develop, train, or improve models or services that compete with us in a manner that violates applicable law or third-party rights;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
Many tools run locally in your browser, but you remain responsible for any content you input, transmit, or share (for example, via shareable links). Do not use the Services to process illegal material, to violate anyone's privacy or intellectual property rights, or to circumvent laws related to cryptography, export controls, or surveillance where those laws apply to you.
3. Educational and informational nature of the Services
Cipher Decipher provides encoding, decoding, and reference tools, along with explanatory articles intended for education and practical productivity. Tools may implement classic ciphers and formats that are not suitable for securing sensitive data. Nothing on the Services is professional security, legal, financial, or compliance advice. See also our Disclaimer.
4. Accounts
The Services are generally provided without requiring an account. If we introduce accounts or subscriptions in the future, additional terms may apply at registration. You are responsible for safeguarding any credentials and for activity under your account.
5. Privacy and data
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy describe how we collect, use, and share information. Many interactive features process input on your device; nonetheless, standard web logs, analytics, and advertising technologies (where enabled) may collect information as described in those policies.
6. Intellectual property
We own or license the content on the Services, including text, graphics, logos, layouts, and software (excluding open-source components governed by their respective licenses). Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for personal or internal business purposes that do not compete with the Services in a way that violates Section 2.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services without our written permission, except for temporary copies necessarily made by your browser or as allowed by law.
7. Third-party services, links, and advertising
The Services may include links to third-party websites, embeds, or integrations. We do not control third parties and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. If you choose to interact with third parties, you do so at your own risk and should review their terms and policies.
Where we display advertisements (for example, through Google AdSense or similar networks), those ads are served by third parties who may use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Privacy and Cookie policies. Advertisements are not endorsements unless we explicitly say otherwise.
8. Beta features, changes, and availability
We may add, change, or remove tools, pages, or features; perform maintenance; or suspend or discontinue parts of the Services with or without notice. We strive for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Historical outputs may differ if we update algorithms or copy for clarity.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE OR OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH MAY BE ZERO FOR FREE USE) OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the publisher of Cipher Decipher and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. DMCA and copyright notices
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe material on the Services infringes your copyright, please contact us at contact@cipherdecipher.com with the information reasonably required to evaluate your notice under applicable law (such as identification of the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, and a statement of good faith). We may remove or disable access to material in appropriate cases.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, excluding conflict-of-law rules that would require applying another jurisdiction's laws, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence where applicable. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Services, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
14. General
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede prior agreements on the same subject. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us via Contact.
